Amb. Okon Mkpafit is a prolific tax consultant and visionary leader with over 20 years of experience driving sustainable growth in revenue generation, particularly within the realm of local and state taxation in Nigeria. Known for his innovative strategies and excellent leadership, he has consistently delivered transformative results that have reshaped the landscape of tax administration across the country.
Though, with a B.Sc. in Political Science, Amb. Mkpafit in attempt to pursue his passion, pioneered the Food Handling Permit Revenue Sub-Head in Calabar Municipal Council, which was later adopted by Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) and has since been replicated across nearly all of Nigeria’s 774 Local Government Areas. His groundbreaking initiative in RTV revenue mobilization significantly boosted Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) in 19 Local Governments in Northern Nigeria, raising their IGR performance from 32% to 89%.

Beyond his professional excellence, he has been honored with several prestigious awards, including: Kwame Nkrumah Leadership Prize (2017) – for outstanding contributions to nation-building and youth empowerment by Grow Africa Youth Initiative, Paul Harris Fellow (2023) – awarded by The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International, Ambassador for Peace (2018) – by the Universal Peace Federation and Distinguished Merit Award (2023) – as an epitome of societal development by the National Association of Northern Nigerian Students.
